Keeping the Covenant of Marriage
Bible Reading: Genesis 2:18-25
“18 And the LORD God said, It is not good that the man should be alone; I will make him a help meet for him.
19 And out of the ground the LORD God formed every beast of the field, and every fowl of the air; and brought them unto Adam to see what he would call them: and whatsoever Adam called every living creature, that was the name thereof.
20 And Adam gave names to all cattle, and to the fowl of the air, and to every beast of the field; but for Adam, there was not found a help meet for him.
21 And the LORD God caused a deep sleep to fall upon Adam, and he slept: and he took one of his ribs, and closed up the flesh instead thereof;
22 And the rib, which the LORD God had taken from man, made he a woman, and brought her unto the man.
23 And Adam said, This is now bone of my bones, and flesh of my flesh: she shall be called Woman because she was taken out of Man.
24 Therefore shall a man leave his father and his mother, and shall cleave unto his wife: and they shall be one flesh.
25 And they were both naked, the man and his wife, and were not ashamed.”
The failure of many marriages today happens as a result of breaking the covenant of marriage either from the wife or the husband. Marriage is a covenant that God designed to be sealed with the blood so that it can endure the test of time and flourish until death. It also makes the marriage triumph and overcomes any challenges that may confront the couple.
The Holy Bible warns the youth both male and female to shun fornication or sexual immorality. Fornication, fun and sex before marriage is a sin, and both male and female must avoid them so that their marriage in the future will be able to triumph and be fulfilled. Not only that, it is a means to avoid the wrath of God. 1 Corinthians 6:18-20; 3:16-17.
It is very necessary for a woman most especially the younger ones that have not married to maintain their virginity. Sisters, you must maintain your virginity because you carry the blood that is needed to establish and seal the covenant of marriage. it is a great sin to lose your virginity as a child of God. Deuteronomy 22:13-30.
A writer said: “Divorce and separation abound in our generation because many marriage covenants were not established and sealed by blood. Many women lost their virginity before getting married, and the blood that was required to keep their marriage intact for life was used to establish a covenant with an evil spirit.”
The issue of divorces or separation after marriage will continue to abound in as much as the younger ones continue to lose their virginity to satanic agents. Dear brothers and sisters, you have a responsibility in this end time to maintain your virginities if truly you desire a successful marriage and live happily with your spouse.
Besides, you must establish the covenant of marriage and seal it.
Blood is powerful. By it, covenants are established, sealed and broken. Many sisters and brothers have established a covenant with evil and they are now reaping the consequences in their marriages.
Let me tell you this, God established covenants with men by the blood, so also the evil spirits established covenants with men, families, groups, organisations, territories and nations through blood. Genesis 17:1-21; 9:9-17. Any defilement or abuse of the instructions contained in the covenants attracts grave consequences to the violator. These consequences may include, sickness, marital delay, barrenness, poverty, miscarriage, failure, sudden death, delay in delivery, debt, lack of peace in the house, divorce or rejection, etc.
The ways out

• Surrender yourself unto Jesus Christ. Matthew 11:28-29. Allow Him to pilot your marriage.
