BREAKING THE YOKE OF SETBACK

Bible Reading: Joshua 7:1-9

“1 But the children of Israel committed a trespass in the accursed thing: for Achan, the son of Carmi, the son of Zabdi, the son of Zerah, of the tribe of Judah, took of the accursed thing: and the anger of the LORD was kindled against the children of Israel.

2 And Joshua sent men from Jericho to Ai, which is beside Beth-aven, on the east side of Bethel, and spake unto them, saying, Go up and view the country. And the men went up and viewed Ai.

3 And they returned to Joshua, and said unto him, Let not all the people go up; but let about two or three thousand men go up and smite Ai, and make not all the people to labour thither; for they are but few.

4 So there went up thither of the people about three thousand men: and they fled before the men of Ai.

5 And the men of Ai smote of them about thirty and six men: for they chased them from before the gate even unto Shebarim, and smote them in the going down: wherefore the hearts of the people melted, and became as water.

6 And Joshua rent his clothes, and fell to the earth upon his face before the ark of the LORD until the eventide, he and the elders of Israel, and put dust upon their heads.

7 And Joshua said, Alas, O Lord GOD, wherefore hast thou at all brought these people over Jordan, to deliver us into the hand of the Amorites, to destroy us? would to God we had been content, and dwelt on the other side Jordan!

8 O Lord, what shall I say, when Israel turneth their backs before their enemies!

9 For the Canaanites and all the inhabitants of the land shall hear of it, and shall environ us round, and cut off our name from the earth: and what wilt thou do unto thy great name? Joshua 7:1-9

One of the yokes that are affecting many people today is the yoke of setback, and it is a pity that many that are a victim of this terrible yoke were ignorant of it. The setback is a very bad situation that can make a person lost the time of his or her successful reign.

A setback is the ability to slow down the progress of a people, family, or nation and bring them backwards. It is the reversal of someone’s progress which he has made over time. Instead, to be progressive, the reverse is happening. Setback occurs when all one has ever worked for begins to crumble in his presence, the loss of job, destruction of businesses and finances and a lot more. The yoke of setback doesn’t have respect for age, tribe, colour, language or status. It takes one back to square one and leaves one there permanently.

If you are under the control of setback yoke, nothing good will move forward. Sometimes you can start a project and suddenly it stops. The yoke of setback can affect education, finances, marriage, as well as ministry. The yoke of setback can make someone become a slave to his mate.  Breaking the yoke of setback is the prayer needed to break any effect of setback either spiritually, physically, materially, financially and maritally.

The people of God during the Joshua era experienced setbacks because of their sins. They could not win a battle against Ai because the mark of setback has set before them.

“And the LORD said unto Joshua, Get thee up; wherefore liest thou thus upon thy face? Israel hath sinned, and they have also transgressed my covenant which I commanded them: for they have even taken of the accursed thing, and have also stolen, and dissembled also, and they have put it even among their own stuff. Therefore, the children of Israel could not stand before their enemies, but turned their backs before their enemies, because they were accursed: neither will I be with you anymore, except ye destroy the accursed from among you.” Joshua 7:10-12

Many are experienced a setback today because of their sin or the sin of their parents. They cannot win any battle in life because they have been caged with sins. A situation when a lady has been aborted pregnant two or more times, and when it’s her turn to give birth she could not because the crying of the babies she aborted are worked against her.

The yoke of setback is one of the problems that many ladies are facing today on the issue of marriage. Many ladies have proposed for wedding and suddenly, something happens that cancel the wedding. All these are many setbacks that can happen as a result of sin or evil deeds they have involved.

The Israelites overcome their setback after they repented and asked for forgiveness of their sins. To overcome a setback, you must confess all your sins, ask God to forgive you and wash you clean with the blood of Jesus Christ. Acts 3:38. Besides, don’t lose hope, the Lord Jesus Christ is ready to fight for you.

He is calling you; “Come unto me, all ye that labour and are heavy laden, and I will give you rest.” Matthew 11:28

Prayer to break the yoke of setback

1. Every foundation of a setback in my life, be broken by fire in the name of Jesus.
2. Every force of setback against my marriage is scattered by thunder in the name of Jesus.
3. Any collective family captivity causing a setback in my life, your time is over, die, in the name of Jesus.
4. The victory of darkness over my life, scatter by fire, in the name of Jesus.
5. Every satanic rearrangement of my destiny, be readjusted in my favour by the blood of Jesus, in the name of Jesus.
6. Every yoke of a setback in my life, be broken in the name of Jesus,
7. Generational arrow of setback troubling my life, get out of my life, in the name of Jesus.
8. Any setback curse in my life, die, in the name of Jesus.
9. Any unsettled spirit troubling my progress and my success, clear away by fire, in the name of Jesus.
10. By fire by force, any stubborn powers preventing my battles from dying, die, in Jesus’ name.
11. The spirit of a setback in my life, die, in the name of Jesus.
12. Father, release my finances from the hands of witches, in the name of Jesus.
13. Father, release my business from the hands of setback, in the name of Jesus.
14. Father, release my finances from the spirit of setback, in the name of Jesus.
15. Any arrow fired against my glory to slow me down, be destroyed by fire, in the name of Jesus.
16. Any arrow fired against my marriage to slow me down, be destroyed by fire, in the name of Jesus.
17. Any arrow fired against my finances to slow me down, be destroyed by fire, in the name of Jesus.
18. Any arrow fired against my business to slow me down, be destroyed by fire, in the name of Jesus.
19. Any area of my life opened to all kinds of satanic arrows, be closed by fire, in the name of Jesus.
20. Every arrow of setback assigned to settle on my head, backfire, in the name of Jesus.
21. Powers that want me to come to this world in vain, die, in the name of Jesus.
22. Powers deciding how long I will live, run mad, in the name of Jesus.
23. Invisible spirit of setback oppressing me while I am asleep, your time is over, die and consume by fire, in the name of Jesus.
24. Every close enemy firing an arrow into my life, your time is up, die, in the name of Jesus.
25. Powers using evil bird to slow down my destiny, die, in the name of Jesus.
26. Any wicked animal standing as a barrier of a setback in my life, fall and rise no more, in the name of Jesus.
27. Every chain of setback assigned to cage me, be scattered by the fire of God, in the name of Jesus.
28. Every evil hand causing a setback in my career, be wither by thunder, in the name of Jesus.
29. Any evil powers sending animals to destroy me in my dreams die suddenly, in the name of Jesus.
30. Every work of setback attached with my destiny, die, in the name of Jesus.
31. Any long-staying arrow in my life, die, in the name of Jesus.
32. Arrows that have been pestering anyone in my family, catch fire, in the name of Jesus.
33. By the blood of Jesus, I terminate and wash away every seed of sin that causing setback into my life, in the name of Jesus.
34. Father, cleanse and deliver me from the bondage of setback, in the name of Jesus.
35. Every bad effect of the spirit of setback over my life, be nullified by the blood of Jesus.
36. Every power prolonging my breakthrough, be destroyed in the name of Jesus.
37. Every power hindering my success, be destroyed in the name of Jesus.
38. Every power prolonging my wedding, be destroyed in the name of Jesus.
39. Holy Ghost fire, consume every spirit of a setback in my life, in the name of Jesus.
40. By the blood of Jesus Christ, I break every evil covenant setback over my life in the name of Jesus.
41. By the blood of Jesus, I pray against every spirit of setback and stagnation in my marriage, in the name of Jesus.
42. In the name of Jesus, I bind every strongman delegated to hinder my progress in the name of Jesus.
43. I destroy by fire, every satanic boundary the enemies has marked for me in the name of Jesus.
44. Every enchantment from the enemies to cause a setback for me in all areas, I render you useless in the name of Jesus.
45. Every demonic agent sent from the pit of hell to cause a setback for me, your time is up, die by the thunder of God, in the name of Jesus.
46. Every satanic power controlling my finance causes me not to enjoy the fruit of my labour die by fire, in the name of Jesus.
47. I stand and reject every demonic manipulation in all areas of my life, in the name of Jesus.
