Prayers of Thanksgiving
Bible Reading: Psalms 136
“1 O give thanks unto the LORD; for he is good: for his mercy endureth forever.
2 O give thanks unto the God of gods: for his mercy endureth forever.
3 O give thanks to the Lord of lords: for his mercy endureth forever.
4 To him who alone doeth great wonders: for his mercy endureth forever.
5 To him that by wisdom made the heavens: for his mercy endureth forever.
6 To him that stretched out the earth above the waters: for his mercy endureth forever.
7 To him that made great lights: for his mercy endureth forever:
8 The sun to rule by day: for his mercy endureth forever:
9 The moon and stars to rule by night: for his mercy endureth forever.
10 To him that smote Egypt in their firstborn: for his mercy endureth forever:
11 And brought out Israel from among them: for his mercy endureth forever:
12 With a strong hand, and with a stretched-out arm: for his mercy endureth forever.
13 To him which divided the Red sea into parts: for his mercy endureth forever:
14 And made Israel to pass through the midst of it: for his mercy endureth forever:
15 But overthrew Pharaoh and his host in the Red sea: for his mercy endureth forever.
16 To him which led his people through the wilderness: for his mercy endureth forever.
17 To him which smote great kings: for his mercy endureth forever:
18 And slew famous kings: for his mercy endureth forever:
19 Sihon king of the Amorites: for his mercy endureth forever:
20 And Og the king of Bashan: for his mercy endureth forever:
21 And gave their land for an heritage: for his mercy endureth forever:
22 Even an heritage unto Israel his servant: for his mercy endureth forever.
23 Who remembered us in our low estate: for his mercy endureth forever:
24 And hath redeemed us from our enemies: for his mercy endureth forever.
25 Who giveth food to all flesh: for his mercy endureth forever.
26 O give thanks unto the God of heaven: for his mercy endureth forever.” Psalms 136:1-26
Prayer of thanksgiving is the first and most important prayer that God expecting from us, but it has become the prayer that many didn’t honour.
“In everything give thanks: for this is the will of God in Christ Jesus concerning you.” 1 Thessalonians 5:18
Prayer of Thanksgiving:
- My Father, and my Lord, I give glory unto Your holy name in the name of Jesus.
- From today, whatever I do in word or deed, I do all in the name of the Lord Jesus, giving thanks to God and the Father by him. (Col.3:17)
- In everything I give thanks: for this is the will of God in Christ Jesus concerning me (1 Thess 5:18).
- I give thanks to the LORD, for He is good: for His mercy endures forever. Psalm 107:1
- I give thanks always for all things to God and the Father in the name of our Lord Jesus Christ (Ephesians 5:20)
- I join the heavenly hosts to shout: “We give thanks to you, Lord God Almighty, the One who is and who was because you have taken your great power and have begun to reign. (Revelation 11:17)
- I add my voice whenever the living beings give glory and honour and thanks to the One sitting on the throne, the One who lives forever and ever (Revelation 4:9).
- I thank You, Lord, for answering my prayer and giving me victory. – Psalm 118:21
- I give thanks to the Father, who has qualified me to share in the inheritance of the saints in Light. (Colossians 1:12)
- I enter His gates with thanksgiving and His courts with praise, blessed be His holy name. – Psalm 100:4
- I will praise you, O LORD. Although you were once angry with me, your anger has turned away and you have comforted me. Isaiah 12:1
- You are my God, and I give thanks to you; my God, I honour you highly. – Psalm 118:28

- Father, we are your people, the sheep of your pasture will give thanks to you forever; from generation to generation, we will recount your praise, O LORD. – Psalm 79:13
- Save us, O God our Savior; gather us and deliver us from the nations, that we may give thanks to your holy name, that we may glory in your praise. – 1 Chronicle 16:35
