What is Christian divine authority?

Scripture Reference: John 14:12

“Verily, verily, I say unto you, He that believeth on me, the works that I do shall he do also; and greater works than these shall he do; because I go unto my Father” John 14:12

In every reputable organisation, ministries cum cooperation there are either constituted authority or delegated authority. These authorities are not constituted or delegated for nothing sake but they are delegated to exercise it appropriately and apply a sanction when the occasion calls for it.

No ministry requires high authority like the Christian race because in Christendom the wicked dragon is fighting tirelessly and randomly to devour anyone he found without authority. And that was the reason why Christ gave all authority for me and you before he ascended to heaven; “And Jesus came and spake unto them, saying, All power is given unto me in heaven and in earth” Mathew 28:18

In the book of Luke said; “Behold, I give unto you power to tread on serpents and scorpions, and overall the power of the enemy: and nothing shall by any means hurt you” Luke 10:19.

Every genuine born again child of God carries the same DNA with Christ, there is no limitation or barrier of whatsoever vis-à-vis the exercising of the authority and it is very sad and appallingly that some Christians do not know that Christ has delegated all his authority on them and they are now equipped with the same volume of authority Christ has when He journeyed the earth.

In the government, once authority is delegated on the Attorney General of the federation, he automatically has the same calibre of authority the president has and he can preside on matters which president is suppose to handle. Same ought to be the case in Christendom, for the commander in chief of earth and heaven forces-Jesus Christ has delegated his authority on us, now we are same in terms of exercising authority like Jesus, we can now cast out demons, raise the dead, heal the sick, set the captives free and other things in his name.

We saw Jesus Christ performing numerous signs and wonders to the extent that the father so loved him and placed him on his right hand; “…he was received up into heaven, and sat on the right hand of God” Mark 16:19

The way and the manner which Jesus exercised authority against the dragon and all his cohorts made the Father welcome him cheerfully; “Who is gone into heaven, and is on the right hand of God; angels and authorities and powers being made subject unto him” 1 Peter 3:22

Jesus warned the devil vehemently against I and you; “He suffered no man to do them wrong: yea, he reproved kings for their sakes; Saying, Touch not mine anointed, and do my prophets no harm.” Psalm 105:14-15

Jesus knew that after he might have gone to stay with the father in heaven Satan and his agents may want to war against us and he said unequivocally; “Touch not mine anointed, and do my prophets no harm”.

Now, why was Jesus commanding the Satan and his agents not to touch me and you, because he has fought our battle already and defeated Satan? Beloved, as a true believer you ought to be a threat to the kingdom of darkness to the point that anywhere your shadow passed the dead, sick captives should be miraculously healed as in the days of Apostle Peter.

WHY SOME BELIEVER’S CAN’T EXERCISE THE GOD-GIVEN AUTHORITY IN THIS WICKED WORLD

There are so many things that could empty a believer authority to wit;

Sin. Biblically, we all know the reward of sin which is death. And if the reward of anything is bad then there is no need in doing it. “Yet if thou warn the wicked, and he turns not from his wickedness, nor from his wicked way, he shall die in his iniquity; but thou hast delivered thy soul” Ezekiel 3:19 & Romans 6:23

Lack of faith. You can be a genuine believer but without faith, you don’t have any portion or space to exercise authority. The bible said the Just shall live by faith. Romans 1:17, Habakkuk 2:4. We had great men of God such as Gedeon, Barak, Samson, David and others performing miracles by the application of their faith as slated below;

“And what shall I more say? for the time would fail me to tell of Gedeon, and of Barak, and of Samson, and of Jephthah; of David also, and Samuel, and of the prophets: Who through faith subdued kingdoms, wrought righteousness, obtained promises, stopped the mouths of lions, Quenched the violence of fire, escaped the edge of the sword, out of weakness were made strong, waxed valiant in fight, turned to flight the armies of the aliens.” Hebrew 11:32-34.

The dearth of anointing. Lack of holy ghost fore or power can render one powerless because in the kingdom of God it’s the anointing of God upon a believer that empowers him or her to perform miracles, without anointing no man can do any miracle. Peter attested to this fact as captioned; “How God anointed Jesus of Nazareth with the Holy Ghost and with power: who went about doing good and healing all that were oppressed of the devil; for God was with him” Acts 10:38.

Believers who don’t carry the anointing of God can’t do any miracle no matter how cheap it may be for what ushers’ believers into the world of “do as I say” is the anointing of God.

Self-low esteem. Many believers have narrowed the divine authority to only great men of God on the pulpit. Believe me, honestly, countless people still believe that it’s only their pastors, apostle et al that has the true power to decree anything and it shall come to pass, but biblically that is never the case. In the kingdom of God, there is equality for all but it takes absolute price or high cost to obtain what others carry. Once the price is paid then you are set to perform a miracle, Paul the great persecutor of Christ became a great man of God in his time to the point that he explored widely preaching and teaching the good news to people.

9. Father show me your glory in Jesus name
10. Father show me your supreme power in Jesus
11. Father use me as a vessel of honour to set the captive free, raise the dead, heal the sick in the name of Jesus
12. Father give your angels in heaven charge over my life in the name of Jesus
13. Father establish your mighty power in me in Jesus name
14. Father lead me to the way everlasting in Jesus name
15. Father destroy anything that may want to defile my services never to be accepted by you in your kingdom in Jesus name
16. Father cover me with the precious blood of Jesus Christ
17. Father undertake all my life challenges and give me victory in Jesus name
18. Father plant me immovably and unshakably in your kingdom in Jesus name
19. Father uphold me with your true spirit in Jesus name
20. Father thank you for answering all my prayers in Jesus name.
