“But it shall come to pass, if thou wilt not hearken unto the voice of the LORD thy God, to observe to do all his commandments and his statutes which I command thee this day; that all these curses shall come upon thee, and overtake thee:..” Deuteronomy 28:15
“But the children of Israel committed a trespass in the accursed thing: the son of Carmi, the son of Zabdi, the son of Zerah of the tribe of the Judah, took of the accursed thing, and the anger of the Lord was kindled against the children of Israel. And the Lord told Joshua, get thee up; wherefore liest thou thus upon thy face.” Joshua 7:1
The word curse connotes anything working contrary against the will of a man, it could be lack of finance, barrenness, sickness, hardship and so on.
Brethren, permit me to say that curses are real and the causes of curse are real as well. As the law of cause and effect would have it, nothing happen without a cause so are curses in the life of a man. Note, for every curse one is passing through in life has a root cause thereof. Remember the sin of Achan that brought about the Lord anger and Israel waterloo at Ai. “But the children of Israel committed a trespass in the accursed thing: the son of Carmi, the son of Zabdi, the son of Zerah of the tribe of the Judah, took of the accursed thing, and the anger of the Lord was kindled against the children of Israel. And the Lord told Joshua, get thee up; wherefore liest thou thus upon thy face.” (Joshua 7v1,10-12)
From the quoted scripture it is evidently that the defeat of the Israelites was caused by Achan for taking that which the Lord has commanded him not to take back to the land of Israel. And that is the case with so many people cut across the nations of the earth, they have done so many abominable and forbidden things and along the line the things are now working and warring against them. But I trust God whatever that represent a curse in your life shall be broken down in the name of Jesus. Hear what prophet Isaiah said; “shake thy self from the dust; arise and sit down, O Jerusalem: loose thyself from the bands of thy neck, O captive daughter of Zion.” Isaiah 52:2
Root causes of curses in the life of mankind
For every affliction in the life of man there is always a cause thereof. For nothing shall ever happen in the life of a man if there is no cause. On this note we shall be tracing the causes of curse in the life of humanity, why are humans under spell, curses?
Here are some of the rationale behind curses in the life of people;
- Disobedience to the word of God. Remember the disobedience of Adam and the causes of his disobedience thereof in the life of humanity
- What we speak. When God said life and death are in the power of the tongue God meant it. Because whatever God says he meant it and whatever God mean it he thus says it out loud. See Esau using his mouth to sold out his birthright
- Mockery and persecution. For the bible said GOD created every man in his own image, black, white, tall or dwarf all are the true image of God. Do not mock somebody by his stature or position. Allow God to do his will in the life of his people. (2 Samuel 6:1-23)
How to break all curses of life
- Be born again. Confessing the Lord as your personal savior.
- Be obedience to the word of God. Note God commandments are not meant to mar us but to make us. (Deuteronomy 28:1-14). Remember how Adam sin against God and lost his throne. (Gen3:8-10). Again, take Joseph obedience even though he had the best opportunity to sleep with his master’s wife yet he refuses and later he was made a boss in Potiphar’s house.
- Be careful of what you speak. Hence life and death are in the power of the tongue, therefore, whatever a man speak against him comes back to him. Remember Esau and Jacob, Esau used his mouth against himself, he sold his dignity, birthright with his mouth. Now the whole world would have been calling God of Esau and not God of Jacob
- Do not mock or persecute men of God. Remember Michal mockery against David, she mocked David, communized him even though David was praising how the Ark of God come to stay in his home and this angered God and God cursed her to the extent that she was barren and she is the only barren woman in the bible that could not bear children.(2Samuel 6)
- Know that you are set free from all curses of life through Christ. (Galatians 3v10), John 8v36
- Know that you are from the family of Abraham. We are the seed of Abraham and so therefore Abraham blessings are ours. (John 8v37a)
- Know where to go and where not to go. Not all places are suitable for a Christian to go. Some places are demonic in nature. Remember God speaking to Moses, “Moses remove thy shoe for where thou are standing is a holy ground”

- Father thank you because now I’m no more under spells, enchantments or curses in the name of Jesus
